Dr. Nell Ard is a distinguished nursing professional with an extensive background in clinical practice and nursing education. Over the course of her 13-year tenure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Family, she gained a wealth of practical experience, which has informed her teaching and leadership in the field.

With 40 years dedicated to nursing education, Dr. Ard has contributed to a wide spectrum of academic programs, including diploma, associate, baccalaureate, and master's degree levels.

Global Leadership & Scholarship

Her commitment to advancing the standards of nursing education is evident through her active involvement at regional, state, and national levels. Dr. Ard is widely recognized for her scholarly contributions, having published numerous articles and delivered presentations on a variety of topics.

Notably, she has accrued 12 years of specialized experience in international nursing program development and accreditation, providing leadership and expertise in global quality assurance. Her work has included presentations on international accreditation processes and collaborating with leading organizations such as INQAAHE and CHEA’s International Quality Group to promote excellence in nursing education worldwide.

Certified as a Nurse Educator since 2007 and a Fellow in the Academy of Nurse Educators since 2009, Dr. Ard’s credentials reflect her dedication to professional growth and excellence.

Her involvement in nursing accreditation began in 2004 as a peer evaluator, and since joining the ACEN full-time in 2012, she has served in multiple capacities, further strengthening the agency's commitment to international accreditation and quality improvement in nursing education.
